Fill Your Walls With Color
Color, light, and nature make me happy. Whether wind shifting through trees, or a vibrant river valley at dawn, I paint to capture the moments that excite and move me.
My journey as an artist began in childhood—given the choice between recess and the art room, I always chose the art room. That passion followed me through my Fine Arts degree at VCU and into my home studio today. While I started as an oil painter, I fell in love with oil pastels when my children were young; they allowed me to create rich, blended textures without using harsh solvents near my little ones. Today, I move happily between the two mediums, constantly chasing combinations of light and color. I also like to take photographs for greeting cards, play with collage, and create found object sculptures.
Painting is my lifeline; it is exciting, rich, and grounding. I strive to draw out the (often overlooked) wonder of the natural world that is inside us all. My hope is that these paintings bring that same sense of grounded joy and connection into your home.
